Comacell Brown Jr.'s commissioned banner for Art of Activism. Brown's banner is currently on loan to MD Hall from BDM.

As we strive to bring you thought-provoking and socially relevant programming, please join Maryland Hall in partnership with the Banneker-Douglass Museum (BDM) for an evening of discussion that explores the intersectionality of art and social justice. As a follow up to the Banneker-Douglass Museum’s 2020 program, “Creatives Connect: Using Art as Activism,” this program will highlight the current Maryland Hall and Maryland Commission on African American History and Culture exhibit “Art of Activism” and explore the power of community partnerships and engagement.

This conversation will take place on the Maryland Hall facebook page at 5:30 pm.

Exhibit juror and Executive Director of the BDM Chanel Compton will moderate the conversation with MD Hall Exhibitions Coordinator Emily Kohlenstein and "Art of Activism" Artists: Comacell Brown Jr.Aaron Maybin and Schroeder Cherry.

This exhibition is sponsored by the Openshaw Balcony Gallery
