Your aspiring builder will love creating sculptures in this class about making art with air dry clay. Students are invited to participate with both modeling clay and model magic (air-dry clay), as each we create sculptures in a different theme each day. This fun, high energy class will include combinations in jazz, hip hop, broadway, ballet and tap! Concentrate on technique, coordination and performance. Workshop will conclude with a showcase filled with a multitude of dances. Miss Cheryl will supply the costumes! Please bring a water bottle. This class inspires children to discover new ways of drawing everyday subjects. We will explore the differences between 2D and 3D objects, natural lighting from sunny to cloudy days, how to make a fruit look like a fruit and not a vegetable and how to draw humans and animals of all sorts. This class will include techniques for pencil, oil pastel, charcoal, and colored pencil. A materials fee of $35 is due to the instructor at the first day (this fee covers a drawing pencil set, oil pastels, charcoal, a sketch pad, and class supplies). All student artwork will go home on the last day. Students attending Artworks: Drawing and Artworks: Painting may stay through the supervised breaks for lunch/snack time between classes for a fee of $5 per student, per supervised break, per day. This workshop starts with techniques and materials commonly used by professional artists. Each day we will work with a new material including assorted drawing pencils, charcoals, erasers, papers, and oil pastels. Subject matter will include animals, human faces and forms, still life settings, and landscapes. Techniques will include enlarging and reducing images, line, form, light and shadow, volume, through value studies. Students will have class time to draw subjects of their choice, using the techniques covered in class. Please bring several photos and items to class with you on the first day of things that you would like to draw. This can include objects such as photos, action figures, animated figures, or just ideas that you would like to put on paper. A materials fee of $45 is due to the instructor the first day of class (this fee covers everything we will use in class and an itemized list is available upon request). This class is for beginners to intermediate level student. Students attending Jr. Drawing, Painting, may stay through the supervised breaks for lunch/snack time between classes for a fee of $5 per student, per supervised break, per day. Your young artist will learn to create their own dynamic characters in this camp that fosters storytelling. Campers will enhance their illustration skills as they design and draw complex characters from head to toe. This class will focus on traditional drawing and illustration skills, including painted character portraits and an illustrated story. The Drawing and Painting class will cover basic techniques for students to draw their subjects and then paint them on the same day. This excercise helps students with color work, mediums, subjects, sizing and brushwork. We will be using a new subject each day tba. Students may bring some subjects to paint the first day of class to use during the week. Students will be painting on easels and may need an apron for class. During this unique half-day camp students will explore the many facets of their own identity and experiences by creating masks. Artists will examine the relationship between traditional African mask making, storytelling and the artistic movement Afrofuturism. Students will investigate using papier mache, cardboard, utility knives, paper clay, found objects and fabric. A materials fee of $30 is due to the instructor at the first class. Come play with us and create that one-of-a-kind functional fused glass dish.  Students off all ages will arrange precut glass pieces on a clear piece of glass and add recycled glass frit and stringers. Parents can assist the student and make their own dish as time permits. A basic materials fee of $10 per dish will be due at the beginning of class. Projects will be fired after the workshop and then slumped into a dish mold and available for pick up the following week. This unique half-day camp offers a fun and immersive experience with clay, from hand building to glazing. Art projects include: coil pot, clay animals, leaf bowls and more. This class offers the student a chance to draw and paint anything of their choice. This class has less traditional techniques but makes up in fun. We use all sorts of papers, glitter paint, acrylic paint, oil pastels, charcoal, pencil, colored and watercolor pencils. Everyday is something new.
