Charlotte Doy teaches Belly Dance and performs Belly Dance and Central Asian Dance in the Baltimore/Washington area.  A life-long lover of dance, she studied Ballet and Modern styles while pursuing her Visual and Performance/Music Performance degree at UMBC in the 1980s where she studied choreography and improvisation technique with Robert Ellis Dunn. 

In 2008, Charlotte discovered her passion for Belly Dance.  Since then she has pursued in-depth studies with dancers, scholars, and musicians both local and around the world.  She is grateful for her mentor, Artemis Mourat, who lead her to a wider and deeper understanding of the dance.  

Charlotte is Co-Director of Zhywa and Darbukka Boy, member of Silk Road Dance Company, Egyptian Style Instructor at Studio Artemis, past Co-Director of Shimmy Mob Northern Anne Arundel County Group, past member of Sahara Dance Raquettes Beledi, Nadia, Samia, and Tahia companies.

Certifications include:  Studio Artemis: Totally Turkish Intensive (2014), Sahra (Saeda) Kent: Journey Through Egypt Levels 1-4 (2015); Salimpour School of Dance: Suhaila Level 1 (2016); Sahara Dance Foundations Teacher Training (2017); Heart Saver, Basic Life Support/CPR  (2000-2018) (renewed biannually)

Charlotte Doy also holds a Doctoral Degree in Audiology and practices Clinical Audiology in Maryland.
