Located in the historic former Annapolis High School, Maryland Hall transports students back to a different time. Once you enter the grand red brick building, the unmistakable feeling of being in a special place washes over you as you navigate the original terrazzo floors and bricked archways. While Maryland Hall has undergone many renovations and upgrades over the years, changes have always been made in alignment with the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority with restoration at the forefront. Its original use as a public school makes the building’s layout and facilities perfect for a thriving and unique arts education program.
Paint from a live model in one of the Northern facing light classrooms, make fused glass dishes in the Glass Room, throw on the wheel in the Pottery studio, glaze your pieces in the glazing room, get a little dirty in the Woodturning studio, dance on the marley floors in one of the dance studios, or perform on the small original stage in Room 308. Classes are dedicated to skill building and run as multiple week sessions. Regularly offered workshops allow students to try a new medium in a shorter format.
We offer the most comprehensive selection of arts enrichment classes in the Annapolis and Maryland region taught by the area’s best professional Teaching Artists. From toddlers and teens to adults and seniors, classes provide exploration and education for anyone interested in exploring the arts. Classes are designed to cultivate artistic skills and to inspire, encourage and nurture an appreciation for the arts.
Classes are offered year-round during 4 season/semesters: Fall (September-November); Winter (December-March); Spring (April-mid June); and Summer (June-August). Current offerings include on-site in-person classes, online classes and several Co-Ops.
